  • All-season tires like the Waterfall Eco Dynamic make the most sense for most drivers. They’re a jack-of-all-trades solution, delivering dependable traction in wet, dry, or light wintry weather along with handling that’s predictable and accurate, low noise, forgiving ride quality, and long, even wear. In most cases, price and quality are directly tied in with each other, but sometimes you run across an all-season tire that’s affordable but can punch far above its weight class in performance and value.

That’s what you get with the Waterfall Eco Dynamic. This is a tire that incorporates premium-level materials and design at a surprising price and is a great choice as a replacement tire for a wide variety of sedans, minivans, coupes, and crossovers.

So what is it about the tire that makes it a standout among affordable all-season tires? Let’s go in for a closer look with this Waterfall Eco Dynamic review:

    Features and Benefits

Here are just a few of the pluses to look for with the Waterfall Eco Dynamic:

    • Block Stabilization Technology ties tread blocks together for added rigidity, helping to enhance cornering performance and short braking distances
    • Four wide circumferential grooves and angled/lateral grooves evacuate water from the tire’s contact patch and resist hydroplaning on wet roads
    • Smart Tire Technology lowers rolling resistance for better fuel economy, lower emissions
    • The casing and belt package was redesigned for a 5% lower tire weight
    • Stepped shoulder design for enhanced handling and steering response in wet or dry conditions
    • Advanced tread formulation is designed for long, even wear properties and dependable wet-weather traction
    • A dense network of sipes multiplies traction on wet or snowy roads with hundreds of extra biting edges
    • Tread pitch computer tuned and randomized to cancel certain frequencies and resonances, keeping road noise low
    • Backed by a 45,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
    • Solid center rib boosts straight-line stability and road manners as well as steering response

    Pros and Cons

So, is this Waterfall tire the right choice for your ride and budget? Before you decide, let’s take a look at the tire’s pros and cons.

    PROS:

    • Low noise and compliant ride quality
    • Handling is secure and neutral
    • Excellent grip on wet or dry pavement
    • Generous warranty coverage

    CONS:

    • The tire is not Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified so it should not be used in moderate to severe winter weather conditions
    • Fuel efficiency could be better

SimpleTire’s view on Waterfall Eco Dynamic tires

As tire technology advances, we’re seeing more and more advanced features, materials, and designs on affordable all-season tires, and the Waterfall Eco Dynamic is a perfect example. The Waterfall Eco Dynamic is packed with design concepts that at one time you’d only expect to see on premium tires that cost much more, and performance to match.

Things like stepped shoulders, silica-enhanced rubber formulation, lighter weight, and lower rolling resistance used to only be found on more expensive tires, but the Eco Dynamic comes in at a price point far lower than you might expect. Ride quality is supple and forgiving, with low noise on most pavement surfaces. Road manners are pretty civilized too – the Waterfall Eco Dynamic doesn’t lose its composure easily over irregular pavement. Braking distances are short with a secure, safe feel and handling is crisp, if maybe not up to sporty UHP tire performance. A 45,000 mile manufacturer’s treadwear warranty is actually pretty remarkable for a tire at this price point, too. According to SimpleScore, the numerical values for this tire’s performance break down as 7.8 for traction, 8.0 for handling, and 8.1 for longevity, with a composite SimpleScore of 8.0.

All in all, we think that the Waterfall Eco Dynamic presents exceptional value in an all-season tire for sedans, minivans, and crossovers. It’s a great replacement tire for older vehicles where you need quality tires, but don’t want to break the bank to do it.

Decent cheap tire if you are just putting a bunch of miles on to and from work. Very prone to hydroplaning on wet roads.

I thought I was saving money, so I put the cheapest tires Walmart had on my 2011 with 225K miles, Waterfall Eco Dynamic. Mileage immediately dropped from 44 mpg to 34 mpg. I'm a dork. I didn't realize tires are such a major factor in mileage.

I got these for a road trip to TN from NJ and back in my 1989 Honda Civic. Rained a lot and pushed them hard on the smokey mountains. I never lost traction once. Great tires for the money.
