The Landsail LS588 UHP is designed to give you the best of both worlds – the sharp cornering, steering response, and braking of an ultra-high-performance (UHP) tire along with the year-round versatility of an all-season tire. Even though the Landsail LS588 UHP is a more affordable tire, it’s still an excellent choice for high-end sports sedans and coupes and is engineered for the high horsepower, torque, and suspensions of modern muscle cars and performance cars.
That performance doesn’t mean you have to compromise when it comes to ride comfort, road manners, or low noise, however. So what is it about the tire that makes it such a standout tire? Let’s go in for a closer look with this Landsail LS588 UHP review:
Features and Benefits
There’s a lot to like with the Landsail LS588 UHP:
- A solid center rib helps deliver stable straight-line road manners on the highway along with responsive, direct steering and feedback for the driver
- Circumferential and lateral grooves work as a system to mitigate hydroplaning by evacuating water from the tire’s contact patch
- The tread pitch and tread alignment are randomized and computer-tuned to cancel certain frequencies and resonances and keep road noise low
- Advanced silica-rich rubber compound delivers better wet-weather grip plus long wear and flexibility for traction at subfreezing temperatures
- The contact patch is optimized to put the most rubber in contact with the road at all times for enhanced steering response, braking performance, traction
- Backed by a 50,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
- Reduced rolling resistance helps cut fuel consumption and emissions
- The shoulder and lower sidewall are reinforced for rigidity, resisting deformation and tread squirm from the inertia forces of hard cornering
- A network of sipes multiplies traction with hundreds of biting edges to cut through snow and standing water
Pros and Cons
So, is this Landsail tire the right choice for your ride and budget? Before you decide, let’s take a look at the tire’s pros and cons:
PROS:
- Generous warranty coverage
- Very compliant and refined ride with low noise
- Year-round traction
- Low rolling resistance for improved fuel economy
CONS:
- Not good in heavier snow or winter conditions
- Some drivers report poor wet-weather braking
- Some drivers report poor handling when pushed to the limit
SimpleTire’s view on Landsail LS588 UHP tires
When you’re looking for a UHP tire, there are a lot of choices out there on the market. Most UHP tires use a softer, stickier rubber formulation that delivers great traction by adhering to the pavement, but these tires will stiffen up and lose their grip on colder days. Tire manufacturers advise against using UHP tires if temperatures are consistently below 45 degrees F.
That’s not the case with the Landsail LS588 UHP. The silica-derived rubber formulation of the LS588 UHP is designed for year-round traction, allowing the tire to stay flexible for good performance, even in subfreezing weather – a real advantage over most UHP tires. It also delivers a ride that’s surprisingly supple and quiet for a serene driving experience, and straight-line stability that’s as stable as an armored car. This is a tire that doesn’t lose its composure easily on irregular pavement or rough roads; it still gives you the same kind of confidence and control that you expect.
Handling is direct, with the tires responding well to driver input without being overly touchy or sensitive. And no, the Landsail LS588 UHP doesn’t do well in the snow (despite its network of sipes), but most UHP all-season tires aren’t designed for winter weather so that’s not a big surprise. The LS588 UHP does, however, present a great value in an all-season tire that’s a good fit for drivers of sporty vehicles who like to push the envelope a little.

This is the third car that I have put Landsail tires on, and I have been very happy with the value of the tire. The tires handle well in wet/snow conditions and are comfortable
Tires tore apart not even two years old 10k miles. Do not buy.
Amazing tires for the price Great value
Super great tires very happy with the wear on them after 7 months of use
I would 100 percent not recommend these tires. I have had them for way less than 50k miles and 2 tires have split on the inner wall. Not just one but two. Now I'm just waiting for the other two to do the same. Buy something better.
Best tires I could've bought for my car. I feel like they work better than my falken tires.
Tires are very quiet, wear good and noise is little to none Will definitely purchase again
