Lancaster is known for making tires for vehicles ranging from passenger cars to light trucks and has received global recognition for its use of advanced technology in design and production. A V-speed rating enables them to move fast, and this Lancaster LR-66 review will have more information about this highly affordable all-season tire.

    Features and Benefits

A strong internal structure and heat-resistant performance enable the LR-66 to display high-speed agility. Lancaster tires have quickly made a name for themselves in terms of quality, top-notch performance, and affordability, and the LR-66 is no exception. If we had to choose one parameter that truly stands out, it would have to be the asymmetric tread design here that results in better traction and a high Lancaster LR-66 rating.

    • Consistent traction: The asymmetrical tread pattern provides consistent traction in wet, dry, and light winter conditions throughout the year, resulting in an average traction SimpleScore of 7.9.
    • Solid wet grip: Four wide grooves are present within the tread to rapidly evacuate water and generate wet traction. This tire also promotes safety by increasing hydroplaning resistance.
    • Good warranty: Lancaster offers a limited manufacturer warranty of 45,000 miles on the LR-66, leading to an average longevity SimpleScore of 8.3.
    • Great handling performance: Continuous center ribs on this tire ensure precise steering responses and stability at high speeds. This V-rated tire is suitable for an average handling SimpleScore of 8.1. The asymmetrical tread pattern helps boost performance as well.
    • Lasts long: The all-season rubber compound prevents heat buildup near the tread area, resulting in longer tread life.

SimpleTire’s view on Lancaster LR-66 tires

The Lancaster LR-66 tire's asymmetric tread design and four wide grooves combine to provide exceptional grip in dry, wet, and mild winter conditions. It is an all-season tire that offers tremendous value for money through its unique continuous ribs that provide quick steering responses and agility. When compared to several tires, such as the Sailun Atrezzo SH408, Multi-Mile Matrix Tour RS II, and Atlander AX-88, the LR-66 is priced lower. The excellent high-speed stability and precise steering responses on vehicles made possible by the continuous center ribs surprised us during our Lancaster LR-66 tire review process. What’s more, tire owners will also feel confident due to the 45,000 mile limited manufacturer warranty.

Done everything I needed so far, definitely better in the rain than the worn down tires they replaced. Haven't had any winter driving yet to rate that but very good on everything so far.

I've had two sets of Bridgestone tires on my 2013 Toyota Venza. The Venza has a problem with road noise with Bridgestone tires but the set of Landcaster LR66 I bought are much quieter.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with not only the all season performance of the tire, but it's longevity as well! From driving in all seasons too include inclement weather in Maine on all possible surfaces and terrain these tires performed far beyond what I expected at such a low price point. With that being said, their one downfall that I've experienced is large pot holes due to the profile of the tire, but that is to be expected with any "low profile" tire. Would highly recommend as an All Season Budget buy tire.
