  • The GT Radial Maxtour All Season tire is yet another premium all-season tire from GT Radial that promises outstanding mileage, improved all season performance, and a quiet and comfortable ride to all the owners of SUVs and passenger cars. An added advantage is that it is backed up by a 60,000 mile warranty, meaning that you can drive with ease of mind when you’re on a Maxtour All Season tire. But is the Maxtour All Season the right tire for you?

    Features and Benefits

If you live in areas that have moderate temperatures year-round, finding a set of tires that perform well in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions becomes a must as changing conditions can make it difficult for your tires to grip the road. Fortunately, all-season tires are an excellent choice if you want a do-it-all tire for your vehicle. Additionally, all-season tires typically offer better rolling resistance for enhanced fuel economy.

Let’s take a look at the GT Radial Maxtour All Season review to help understand all its features and benefits at a glance:

    • All Season Performance: The GT Radial Maxtour All Season comes with an innovative and new asymmetric tread pattern and rubber compound that enhances its performance in wet as well as light snow conditions.
    • Reduced Hydroplaning: The wide circumferential grooves and inner-tread shoulder channels aid in water evacuation that reduces hydroplaning risk.
    • Minimal Noise: Harmonically optimized tread blocks (Variable Pitch Technology) with pitch sequencing reduce the tire noise for a quiet, comfortable ride.
    • Solid Vehicle Handling: Stiff outer tread blocks ensure precise vehicle handling and solid steering response year-round.
    • Longer Tread Life: Full-depth zig-zag sipes and biting edges deliver improved traction and grip throughout the life of the tire while also promoting a longer tread life.

Ideal for drivers with long commutes, the Maxtour All Season offers reliable performance and very high endurance. This tire comes in 9 different tire sizes ranging from 13 to 16 inches, and offers a 60,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty, 24-hour roadside assistance that’s good for 2 years from the date of purchase, and a road hazard warranty.

    Pros and Cons

Before deciding to buy GT Radial Maxtour All Season, let’s first drill down a few factors that can help you decide whether or not the tire is right for you.

    • Harmonically Optimized Pitch Sequencing reduces road noise
    • Asymmetric tread pattern delivers a strong year-round performance
    • Stiff, solid outer tread blocks improve vehicle handling and allow for quick steering response
    • Inner-tread shoulder channels reduce hydroplaning risk

While GT Radial makes a good claim about Maxtour All Season’s performance, some shortcomings may divide opinions.

    • All-season tread compound limits the usage above 45-degree temperatures
    • Not ideal for use in moderate to severe winter weather conditions
    • Only available for passenger vehicles

These tires are installed on a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix that has run Kelly Chargers and various Cooper tires, among others. My initial impression is that these tires perform almost as well as the Coopers I usually install, but require some break-in. The practical difference is that these tires would break loose about 7-8 mph below the Coopers on the same large loop highway exit at around 60-65 mph when the sensible speed would be about 45-50 mph. Beyond that, I was pleasantly surprised with the rest of the handling characteristics in comparison, especially given the price. The previous set of tires had a slow leak on 20 year old rims, but the install shop cleaned up the rims at my request and the GT Radials have not had any leak problems. THis is not my primary vehicle so I can't attest to treadwear. I am confident driving my kids on these tires.

Cheap tire. 30,000 mile tire. I can balance a 2x4 but its not going to roll smooth. OK around town but shakes like a dog scratching fleas on the freeway.

I've purchased many different sets of tires for my SUV and Car . This set was the second set for my car. I have been more than happy with the prior sets but these tires are by far the best set of tires I ever bought . They are smooth, quiet ,and the best handling tire I've ever owned . I went off the reviews and I'm not at all disappointed . My car never road this nice . All my driving is rural . Great tire !

Their website said these would fit my Town and Country. They did not. I had to send them back and they charged me $30 in 'restocking' fees. I got the tires from another company. Won't be doing business with Simply Tires, again.
