  • When you’ve got a fleet of commercial vehicles, downtime costs you money and that includes tires. You need tires that can easily handle long hours on the road with route vans or service trucks, with year-round traction, enhanced load ratings, and durability for trips to job sites. The General Grabber HD is a great candidate for commercial light trucks and vans as well as for daily drivers. Along with the above-mentioned necessities, this is a tire that also delivers a quiet, comfortable ride, good handling, and good road manners for day-to-day use.

    Features and Benefits

The General Grabber HD is loaded with great features that make it a strong performer:

    • General’s proprietary Duragen Tech tread formulation, a tough rubber compound that’s cut-and-chip resistant yet stays flexible for traction, even in subfreezing weather
    • Sidewall Curb Guard reinforces the sidewall against curb rash, cuts, and punctures
    • StabiliTred design means a bigger, flatter footprint for enhanced traction and handling, plus even wear
    • Symmetric 3-rib tread pattern with extra stiffness and rigid shoulder blocks for improved handling and stability, even when towing or heavily loaded
    • Four deep circumferential zigzag grooves work with sipes and independent tread blocks to evacuate water and slush from the contact patch and resist hydroplaning
    • Available in sizes from 15” to 18” for a wide variety of light truck/van fitments
    • Testing shows 25% better treadwear properties compared to the competition
    • Improved fuel efficiency

Great for all around truck use. Not aggressive, but gets the job done without excessive noise. Smooth ride.

Had them balanced 6 times in 3 weeks before they are almost better. Just can't get rid of that slight vibration and noise. This was after a front end alignment and new brakes. But they still won't balance out correctly. Don't care what anyone says continental tires general grabber are not good. Also should mention the dealer replaced the first set when I bought the truck new as in it only had 13 miles on it. The original tires did the exact same thing.

I'll start by saying these tires have just been a headache. I had them installed on my 2019 chevy 3500 duramax dually. Truck has less than 50k miles. Factory michelin's were getting thin. Picked up truck from shop and noticed I had some bad vibrations, and it swayed bad in turns like the sidewall was rolling. So I checked the tire pressure and it was right. This is my work truck so i took it back to the shop a few days later when I got a free moment. They rebalanced the tires and tried to tell me that it was just normal to some vibrations. Which is kind of odd considering it rode smooth and tight since new and up until the day I had these put on. So after this it's still feels the same. So I had everthing under the truck checked out and everything is good. Like I said it has less than 50k on it and rode great before. While it was on the lift getting looked at we put the truck in gear and there is a noticeable out of roundness of several of the tires. So I thought maybe the shop they had install them wasn't equipped to install them correctly. So I took it to another shop that does bigger service trucks and duallys. I got the tires rebalanced again for a third time. They said they got them the best they could but they were out really bad. It still vibrates and rides awful. The only I can think is it's due to them being out or round or the sidewalls are to weak even though they are a 10ply load E which is the same as the factory michelin's. So I have contacted simple tire about it with no help as to getting them replaced. So I reached out to General tire about the issue and they never responded to my email. So I guess I'm stuck with tires that cost me $1400 and if I don't spend another $1400-$1600 to get new ones these are going wear everthing out in my truck prematurely. Also drive me crazy everyday. Thanks Simple tire and General tire.

I own a 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with the Duramax turbo diesel, bought it new and I have 270,000 miles on my truck now. These General Tires are the Absolute Best tires I have ever put on my truck. I own a small construction company and tow a 34 ft 5th wheel Nuwa Trailer that weights 12,500 lbs dry. These tires with about 30,000 miles on them still look great and have a lot of thread left. They ride quiet and very smooth at 75 mph. What else can we ask for, GREAT Tires

I have ordered all new tires for two different trucks. Delivery has been fast! The tires are excellent. Can't beat the prices, you'll hear from me again.

Put a set of 6 on my 3500 dually. Took them off 2000 Miles later. They feel like driving on an overloaded truck, control is bad and feels like you do not have good control. Taking corners you have to be careful as it feels like your going to come off the rim. It definitely feels like it rolls a bit onto the sidewall Ride was ok going slow and straight. But that's it. Was scary with my RV 5th wheel on the truck. Felt like riding on 6 jelly donuts. So after spending $1400 having those put on 2000 miles later I am replacing with Michelin Defender. General has a swap out gaurentee but it's useless since that's their best truck tire for this size. I will never buy General again.

Best tires I have had on my box truck! Unbeatable price and I had them ahead of schedule! They were literally at my house a day and a half after I ordered them.
