I purchased these tire for my 2001 Wrangler TJ. Firstly my Jeep is a summer cruiser with the top down and doors off. No rock crawling here. I was looking for a classic look with white lettering, low noise, and good handling. The Grabber A/T X fit the bill. They look cool, have an aggressive 1980's tread pattern, very quiet on the pavement, and work well in sand aired down. Purchasing from Simple Tire was easy and fast.

In less than 15,000 miles my tires were completely worn. Nobody could believe it! General (Continental Tire) sent me to their dealer who told me General Tires would honor the warranty. First though, I was required to buy Continental brand replacement tires at full cost before my claim would be processed. Six weeks after the new tires were installed I found out Continental now denied my claim. I imagine the warranty dept. staff drive around in brand new Dodge Ram's, etc., while cheating me out of a $1200. payment for the defective tires used on my very old truck, nice.

We've had these tires for 3 years, 30,000 mi. The tread is already about where it's time to replace them, despite 3 rotations. Pros: looks, price, handling Cons: Road noise, especially between 30-45 mph, pick up too many pebbles, and worse than average treadwear. They look good, but don't last long enough to justify the price.

I previously add these tires on my truck as a 285 LT. The dry, wet, and winter weather performance was great but it seemed at highway speeds I got a bad vibration that would come and go consistently. Had them road force tested, and it came up that one of the belts were broke in the sidewall they were replaced, and after that had no issues. Fast forward to lifting my truck and going to 37's. I bought these tires again and unfortunately they had the same terrible shaking vibration at highway speeds. Understanding 37s are much bigger and will likely have at least a small amount of vibration but this was more than tolerable. After many times of constantly having them re-balanced at the tire shop and playing with suspension parts and alignment (thinking it can't be the tires they're brand new, it might be the new suspension), I finally found a place that would road force test the 37s and three of them failed. So as of right now the two least bad ones are balanced the best they can be and on the back of the truck, the 3rd, the worst one, is staying as my full size spare and I'm just going to ride them out for a year or two before I replace them because I really did not want to spend another $2200+ for tires. Absolutely love the performance of them, it just seems that they have some construction issues being that I have had them in two vastly different tires sizes but both had the same issue.

Do not buy these tires! Go to the website for general and look at all the reviews that has the same issue as me. I did not get them from simple tire but figured since I was here I would warn anyone else. They are impossible to keep balanced literally, the belts break in them horribly bad, and they will NOT help you with them even under warranty. And they are more expensive than any other tire is the insane part. I've had my balanced numerous times and they won't stay balanced and my driver front is worn up and down on the inside and literally slick now just in spots on the inside and even look swollen in that spot on the outside and I've tried to get them to help me because I'm well under the warranty and nothing. If you look at their website you will see there is a TON of people with the same issue and that's just the ones who left a review. I know others locally with the same issue. At 400 bucks a tire you shouldn't have to deal with this and should have help. Pitiful!
