I had never heard of Ferentino tires but I was impressed with the tread design (which reminds me of Goodyear ST radial that I had purchased in the past). I was happy to see the description, which stated that the "Ribbed tread pattern provides better traction, steering responsiveness, and driving stability." The tires seem to have better wet traction and steering response than the original equipment Yokohama G900 tires. The ride is also smoother and quieter with the new tires. I only have a few hundred miles on the tires so I can't speak to tread wear or traction in snow that has not arrived yet. The description also states that the tires have "Shoulder blocks with additional biting edges improve cornering." I've had track time with other cars so cornering capabilities are important to me. The Yokohama tires weren't bad in corners but the Ferentino tires just seem more comfortable dealing with quick steering input and cornering loads. I am definitely pleased with these tires and would buy them again. The price is a big draw.

The SUV seems to be everywhere you look on the roads these days. In fact, SUVs and crossovers now account for an amazing 48% of sales of new vehicles in the United States, with light trucks taking up another huge chunk of the market. Light trucks, SUVs, and crossovers now have taken over the duties of family cars, the kind of role that was once filled by big sedans and minivans not that long ago. Many of these SUVs come from the factory with all-wheel-drive or 4WD, but many of those vehicles also spend literally their whole service lives on pavement. For those kinds of drivers, all-season tires make the most sense for their year-round versatility, great wear properties with generous limited manufacturer’s tread life warranties, capable handling, and quiet, refined ride quality. The Ferentino Eternopresa is a new player in this arena and delivers better results than you might expect considering its low price point. With an overall SimpleScore of 7.7, the Ferentino Eternopresa is a pretty strong candidate for an affordable all-season tire for SUVs and crossovers, so let’s go through some of its details with this Ferentino Eternopresa tire review:
Features and Benefits
Here are some of the design features and innovations that make the Ferentino Eternopresa a great performer and a great value in an all-season SUV tire:
- Long wear: Advanced tread formulation is enhanced and engineered for long, even tread wear and confident grip in wet weather
- Prevents hydroplaning: All-season tread design features wide circumferential grooves, angled grooves, and lateral grooves that work together as a system to route water away from the tire’s contact patch, preventing hydroplaning
- Stability at high speeds: Continuous center rib gives the Ferentino Eternopresa straight-line stability along with a steering response that’s light and direct
- Low road noise: Variable tread geometry is randomized and computer-tuned to keep road noise to a minimum by negating certain frequencies and overtones
- Traction through sipes: Tread surface area and traction are multiplied thanks to a system of sipes, hundreds of hair-thin slits that slice their way through snow, slush, and standing water
- Good cornering ability: Large, bold shoulder blocks are reinforced to enhance cornering ability
Pros and Cons
PROS:
- Very affordable price point

- Handling is capable and consistent
- Solid road manners and straight-line tracking
CONS:
- Not good off-road
- Can be noisier on some pavement surfaces

SimpleTire’s view on Ferentino Eternopresa tires
Are you familiar with SimpleScore? SimpleScore is the proprietary ratings system that the SimpleTire team developed to give you a quick, at-a-glance idea of the strengths and weaknesses that any tire has to offer. We take into account the tire’s technical details, specs, manufacturer info, customer reviews and other data points, then that’s all distilled to a 1-10 numerical score for the categories of traction, handling and longevity, as well as an overall average SimpleScore number. For the Ferentino Eternopresa, the SimpleScores shake out like this:
Ferentino Eternopresa:
- Traction: 7.8
- Handling: 8.2
- Longevity: 7.3
- Overall average SimpleScore: 7.7
That’s a pretty impressive showing of SimpleScore numbers, and it looks even better when you remember that SimpleTire’s price on the Ferentino Eternopresa ranges from $57.99/tire to $91.99/tire.
With an all-season tire like the Ferentino Eternopresa, you probably shouldn’t expect the kind of cornering ability and handling dynamics that you’d get with a summer tire or UHP tire. Still, the Ferentino Eternopresa beats expectations a bit with its handling. It responds well to driver input and goes where you point it, with cornering ability that’s precise and predictable. Steering response is precise and light but never overly twitchy or sensitive, and straight-line driving at highway speed is secure and solid without being numb or sluggish. The stable shoulder tread blocks and innovative variable draft groove technology of the Ferentino Eternopresa give it the rigidity it needs to resist tread squirm and deformation while entering a corner hot, and keep the tire’s contact patch glued firmly to the road.
On wet pavements, the circumferential grooves and innovative “Waffle Grooves” of the Ferentino Eternopresa do a great job of resisting any tendency towards hydroplaning, with short braking distances and handling thanks to its combination of small tread blocks and lateral sipes. Ride quality is refined and comfortable, and the Savero SUV doesn’t lose its composure easily over broken pavement or irregular surfaces. It’s true that pattern noise can get a little louder on some pavements, and we did note that the Ferentino does not offer a limited manufacturer’s tread life warranty.
In many cases of budget-priced tires, you’re going to get what you pay for, and most people realize that from the start. With the Ferentino Eternopresa, though, this is a tire that handily beats expectations in terms of features, performance and overall value. It’s a tire that stacks up well against premium tires that cost much, much more and the SimpleTire team would recommend it without reservation.
