An OK Tire
"Ford maverick hybrid front wheel drive" This is my first experience with all terrain tires. I was replacing all season continentals which i thought were a little slidy screechy in dry/loose and even wet conditions. As i got into snow season in WI i wanted a little more bite. These armstongs are underwhelming in winter conditions below 40 degrees. I dont get the hype. They are stiff, heavy and uncomfortable when the rubber gets cold, they are probably not the loudest but i notice their noise and the traction on snow is not an improvement like i expected. Maybe my naiveté thinking all terrains could come remotely close to true winter tires (which i have much experience with). Im sure these will be nice for gravel fireroads out camping with extra protection and im sure the rubber will soften up when the weather warms up. In hindsight i wish i had purchased a highly rated all season tire or an all weather tire. Would not recommend unless on super budget or gonna drive all wheel drive car in warm weather (mostly off road).
Tires seem to be good right now. Had them on less
Decent tire for the price
Pretty good tire for the price but these tires are not nearly as aggressive as I was hoping for, nor expecting being an AT tire. Reminds me more of a fancy street tire. These tires make very little noise. With a noise rating of 3, I was expecting a lot more noise. The last set of tires (different brand) had a noise rating of 5 and were a lot louder on the highway. I was generally disappointed by the lack of noise (the entire purpose I went with these tires was because of the noise rating of 3, lol).
great tires for the price
installed these tires on a 2011 Mitsubishi outlander, they handle snow well, ride smoothly and are very quiet compared to the tires I run on my truck. they handle well in the rain, for the price they are a great tire
Great tires
These are the first set of Armstrong tires I've ever had and I am not disappointed! Smooth ride! Plus we just had some nasty snow and ice the last 2 weeks and these tires are doing great! I will definitely purchase again!
No good in snow, would not buy again
Already showing wear on the tires.
A far better tire than I expected!
I've been running C**per Discoverer AT3's for a decade on my 2006 Ridgeline, but they've been redesigned, and they new design wears very unevenly in the shoulder block area, so I decided to try something different. Seeing that Armstrong is back (I'm an old Armstrong Treadlock tire owner from back in the 80's), I thought I'd give them a try. Street performance, wet and dry, is excellent. There's a tiny bit of AT tire hum, less than expected, and at a much lower frequency than my C**pers. The ride comfort is actually a little better. They did very well in sand (up to maybe 3 - 4 inches deep) with marginal steering fight. And in a water crossing with a mud/sand/clay bottom (hard, but slippery) they did better than the C**pers - I think I'd have gotten stuck in one of the holes on the old tires, especially since we got a little hung up on an underwater object (probably a stump or rock). All testing so far was at normal street pressure (35PSI), as I wanted to see how my Ridgeline would perform in an evolving situation, where I might have to do some light off roading with no notice. The actual tread width is a little less than the C**pers, but that doesn't seem to be a negative - the sidewalls balloon out a bit more, so that the overall width is the same, and that shape may actually enhance steering in sand and mud. Overall, I'd say these may be the best value on the market today - not just for AT tires, but across their entire lineup. If they made tires for autocrossing, I'd try those next!
the tires are doing a good job will order again wh
Tires work great and the price was right.
I got these because of tread design and the price. So far have been happy and would buy again.
I will buy the tires again when needed
